Gene families / categories
The view provides lists of genes in gene families or in a gene categories. The gene families and categories were made as follows:
- Transcription Factor
- The genes were retrieved using the gene ontology term assignments to GO:0003700 [transcription factor activity], GO:0016563 [transcription activator activity], or GO:0016564 [transcription repressor activity], which were found in the annotation file (Mouse 430 2.0, na27) provided at the Affymetrix site.
- Transmembrane
- The genes were retrieved using the gene ontology term assignments to GO:0016021 [integral to membrane], which were found in the annotation file (Mouse 430 2.0, na27) provided at the Affymetrix site.
- Channel
- The genes were retrieved using the gene ontology term assignments to GO:0015267 [channel activity], which were found in the annotation file (Mouse 430 2.0, na27) provided at the Affymetrix site.
- GPCR
- The genes were retrieved using the gene ontology term assignments to GO:0004930 [G-protein coupled receptor activity], which were found in the annotation file (Mouse 430 2.0, na27) provided at the Affymetrix site.
- Cell Adhesion
- The genes were retrieved using the gene ontology term assignments to GO:0007155 [cell adhesion], which were found in the annotation file (Mouse 430 2.0, na27) provided at the Affymetrix site.
- Extracellular Matrix
- The genes were retrieved using the gene ontology term assignments to GO:0031012 [extracellular matrix], which were found in the annotation file (Mouse 430 2.0, na27) provided at the Affymetrix site.
- Structural Protein
- The genes were retrieved using the gene ontology term assignments to GO:0005198 [structural molecule activity], which were found in the annotation file (Mouse 430 2.0, na27) provided at the Affymetrix site. Genes assigned to GO:0003735 [structural constituent of ribosome] were excluded from the list.
- Neurogenesis
- The genes were retrieved using the gene ontology term assignments to GO:0022008 [neurogenesis], which were found in the annotation file (Mouse 430 2.0, na27) provided at the Affymetrix site.
- Homeobox
- The genes were retrieved using the reference (Holland, 2007)
- Nuclear Receptor
- The genes were retrieved using the reference (Gofflot, 2007)
- Neurotransmitter(NT)/Neurohormone(NH)
- Manually retrieved.
- Axon Guidance
- Manually retrieved.
- SLC Transporter
- The genes whose gene names have "solute carrier family" were manually retrieved from the Entrez Gene database.
- Forkhead
- The genes whose gene names have "forkhead" were manually retrieved from the Entrez Gene database.
